The health and safety of the community is, and always will be, the highest priority in producing the annual fair. In the interest of public health, the fair is working on implementing procedures to follow the mandated guidelines with social distancing, added signage, additional hand-washing stations, and increased cleaning/sanitizing procedures. As a reminder, if you feel that you are sick, vulnerable, or showing symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you please stay home and join us in 2021. We will have additional details in the coming days and weeks.
The Dubuque County Fair Association’s Board of Directors has spent many hours discussing how we can proceed with our mission to bring people together and provide an atmosphere where family traditions are created and continued in Dubuque County. We have asked ourselves if we can safely provide a fair by following social distancing guidelines and other safety measures. We also had to decide if it was financially feasible to have a fair during these difficult times. We have been working with several local and regional agencies to help us make this decision including, Dubuque County Extension Office, Dubuque County Board of Supervisors, Iowa Association of Fairs, several regional county fairs, Dubuque County Health Department, and other officials.
